Dana Vollmer's World Championship win in the 100 meters butterfly was not a surprise after her flawless prelim and semi-final swims. The United States swimming star's 56.47 semi set tongues a-wagging about a world record. Alas, it wasn't in the cards, but Dana will surely threaten the world record, in a textile suit, between now and the London Olympics.
Vollmer won with a 56.87. Alicia Coutts of Australia won silver (56.94), and China's Lu Ying won the bronze (57.06).
