via www.latimes.com: "There are still things I want to do, that's obvious," Phelps said. "I wouldn't have come back if I still didn't have things to accomplish. I won't be doing eight again; that is out of the question. There are still some small goals I want to accomplish that will probably be just as challenging."
GMM: That quote comes as Phelps prepares to face-off with Ryan Lochte and Brent Hayden in the 100 meter freestyle at the Santa Clara International Grand Prix this weekend. I only mention the 100 free because, I believe, that's the event Phelps wants to win at the U.S. Olympic Trials and the Olympic Games next summer...
It's all about the 100 free!
Mid-distance guys, of which Phelps is one, long for the 100 free, fantasize about being in swimming's "blue ribbon" event.
However, Phelps' 200 back at the Ultraswim did show real promise. Still, it's all about the 100 free. I'm calling it now. Phelps is focused on the 100 free. The 100 fly will simply fall into place with his training geared toward power and speed.
