Libby Trickett, among the greatest female sprinters of all-time, retired from swimming in 2009. She returned in 2010 with her sights set on making the Australian World Championship Team.
Trickett returned to training too late to compete at the Australian Trials, but she could have snuck on the World Championship 4x100 freestyle relay if she swam under 54.99 in a 100m freestyle swim-off on Wednesday. Trickett swam 55.68, missing the mark.
Trickett's disappointed, but remains optimistic about her chances of competing at the Olympics Games in London next.
