The Daily Reezy's, Robin Gross Bennett, a Ryan Lochte Rockstar!
I'm in Phoenix, Arizona right now, with Chris LaBianco, my buddy and head of the USA Swimming Foundation, but I had to stop and say thank you to Robin Gross Bennett of The Daily Reezy!
I'm in Phoenix, working, getting the word out about the Foundation Cause, but also here to rub shoulders with 15 of USA Swimming's best swimmers, including Ryan Lochte. Matt Grevers, Christine Magnuson and Megan Jendrick are also here. (I'll be going downstairs as soon as this blog ends to see who else. I can't say where I am exactly. I'm pretty sure this is a closed event.)
Hanging with the best swimmers on the planet is always a good time. The more evenings you have dinners, conversation and fun, the more you learn they're just regular folks, albeit very big and muscular and competitive--no matter what you're competing at. (At trials I raced Michael Phelps to the elevators a few times in the hotel and he beat me, badly, every time. You'd think he might let me win, seeing as how I'm older and so far from my own personal moment of recognition......but he didn't.)
As much as I love swimmers and appreciate all their hard work and talent, I've come to love the swimming fans out there as well, especially the bloggers who know more about their favorite swimmers than I do. Robin's one of them. Candace Silva and Eve Stahlberger are also two of my favorites. 2008 was an incredible year for swimming, and I think the fans deserve a lot of credit. I know I learned to appreciate the tiniest details about swimmers, details I never cared to pay attention to.

hello!
Thanks for the info, it is very interesting, I loved reading this article because I know it's complete! I would love to receive more data on the subject.
Hope you enjoy yourself here in Phoenix! :) Like the poster above said, if there are any public events going on I'd love to come and support the foundation!
I'm flattered but a little embarrassed to be mentioned by name next to entertaining vloggers like Candace and Eve... I know you know this, Mel, but just so everyone else out there knows, the gift was from the entire Daily Reezy community - I was just the one who placed the order on all the comm members' behalf. :) We're all very happy that you and Tif liked it.
Intrigued to hear more about what all of you are up to in Phoenix!
Enjoy your time here in PHX, GMM. Sounds like a great work trip, and it's nice and warm and sunny to boot. Let us know if you have any public events - I'll come down and say hi in person.

My heart is bursting! I must say, GMM is always a topic of conversation at the Silva/Stahlberger meetings.

i'm glad you and Tiff liked the stuff. hopefully you don't run out again, but just promise to not OD on coffee.
it's funny that Michael really is that competitive, even if it's just racing to the elevators.
